EmeraldCircus:Live '09

It's finally arrived, EmeraldCircus.com's very own convention!

Location: In the heart of Merrion Square, Dublin 2 (in the green area highlighted above)
Dates: June 20th & 21st (11am - 5pm)
Admission: FREE!!!

EmeraldCircus:Live '09 will be held at the Street Performance World Championships 2009 (SPWC runs from June 18th - 21st). We'll be hosting Ireland's primary juggling get together for World Juggling Day 2009; workshops for Circus, Street Performance and Juggling; Information and Chillout Zone; Juggling Store, and of course no convention would be complete without a few games and the toss-up!

Last year many of you couldn't find us (we were hidden away in a corner just outside the park), this year none of you will miss us! as you can see from the image above we're right in the centre of all the action and are sure to draw a huge crowd, our lowest estimate based on last year is around 15% of the overall festival visitors but as we are right in the centre of the park and visible to most of the surrounding areas we're expecting to attract way more then last years 15%.

With our central location this year it is impossible to get from one end of the park to the other without spotting us, we're clearly visible from all 3 paths connecting one end to the other inside the park and are even visible from the footpaths surrounding the outside of the park in many areas! So with such visibility and the bright colourful atmosphere we'll have around us we're expecting 40%-50% if not more of this years turnout at the festival to come and check us out and this year the SPWC organsiers are expecting a massive 100,000 - 120,000!!!

So what exactly will we be doing? check out a quick overview of our activities below, we'll be adding more information to this page as soon as we have any so check back often ;)

World Juggling Day:
Saturday 20th

Bring your Clubs, Balls, Rings or what ever else you juggle or buy them at the juggling store on site! We'll be hosting a few games and workshops dedicated to juggling, Club based games will include crowd favorites "3 Club Gladiator" and "Volley-Club" and for those with balls "3 Ball Simon Says" and "5 Ball Endurance" and space permitting we'll have a nice big toss-up at the end of it all.

Workshops:
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st

Clubs, Balls, Rings, Contact, Poi, Diabolo, Staff... You name it we'll be able to show you the basics and send you in the right direction to build on those skills and develope them further in the company of other jugglers at your nearest juggling club/society. Keep an eye on our on site notice board for workshop timetables! We're hoping to get some of Ireland's best Jugglers to come join us and help run the workshops. We'll list them here as soon as each one is confirmed.

Games:
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st (Prizes on the Sunday)

Saturday we'll be playing loads of games for the fun of playing games and on sunday we'll continue but with a few prizes to give away to the lucky winners of the games we play. If there is a lot of interest in Volley-Club we'll run it across both days with a tournament table to keep track of everything as each game can take some time to finish. We're hoping to get some nice sponsorship for the games prizes and we'll keep you up to date with who is sponsoring what and the prizes up for grabs. Games on the saturday will run throughout the day and the ones with prizes will be listed on a timetable in the EmeraldCircus.com Information Zone.

Looking for information on Street Performance, Circus or Juggling? EmeraldCircus.com will have all the info you need! everything from where to find local juggling groups, where to get the best equipment, what other conventions are coming up so you can meet up again with the friends you make at EC:Live '09 and all sorts of other useful information. All this will be in our chillout zone where we will also have a couple of picnic tables for eating/drinking and a few beanbags for just chilling.

Jugglin Dublin:
